Lymphedema

The accumulation of lymph—tissue fluid that flows into the lymphatic vessels forming the lymphatic system—in the tissues leads to swelling. This condition is called lymphedema and is the most common disorder of the lymphatic system.

Lymphedema can be caused by congenital abnormalities of the lymphatic vessels (primary causes) or by injuries, surgeries, or low physical activity (secondary causes).
Regardless of the cause, there are effective treatments—and at POWAB Clinic, we help select the right one to relieve the feeling of heaviness and reduce the visible swelling.
